April 24, 1967 - Carol Vadnais-Rogie Vachon-Henri Richard. This is an incredibly rare and striking photo of three members of the Montreal Canadiens on their way to Toronto for Game 3 of the 1967 Finals. The Habs were just coming off a loss in Game 2 in the Forum and the expressions on their faces are revealing. Carol Vadnais, with an apprehensive look was a late season call-up but did not play in the finals. The 21 year old rookie is noted for being one of the last players to suit up in the Original 6 NHL. Rogie Vachon had so much pressure on him and it shows in this photo. Leafs coach Punch Imlach had labelled Rogie as a 'Junior B Goalie' which added to the stress. Henri Richard, having experienced the playoff wars often shows a relaxed expression. Note the 'Expo 67' logo on his suitcase.
