DENIS DEJORDY AND GLENN HALL
On November 23, 1966 an odd goaltender switch occurred. Hawks were leading 2-0 when the Leafs Frank Mahovlich was awarded a rare penalty shot. Just prior to the Big M winding up, Chicago coach lifted his goaltender Denis Dejordy and replaced him with future Hall of Fame goalie Glenn Hall figuring the veteran would have a better chance of stopping the penalty shot. The move backfired and Mahovlich scored on the cold 'Mr. Goalie'. Hall returned to the bench and Dejordy resumed his goaltending duties. The Leafs then scored 6 goals against the shaken Dejordy to win the game 6 to 3. An unusual move for sure with this photo capturing the stunned expression of Dejordy being lifted.
